How do I make pads and fx like these?

For the life of me I just can't figure out how these fantastic Ambient Drum 'n' Bass/Oldskool artists do it, and I must know! If you guys have got any tips for me that would be fantastic! Please listen to a few bars of each track in the mix (one im sure you all know well :)) so you can get an idea for each pad and effect i want to try and replicate (or get as close as possible to). I use FL Studio 10 (including many of it's native vsts), NI Massive, TAL-U-No-62, Korg Legacy Cell VSTi, Korg M1 VSTi, Korg Mono Poly VSTi, Korg MS-20 VSTi, Korg Polysix VSTi, Korg Wavestation VSTi, and oxxxide Common FM Synthesizer. If it's possible to get these types of sounds with what i already have that would be great, can't really afford anything else.

I really appreciate the response, but it doesn't really capture the sound I'm looking for. I'd specifically like to know how to do fx like the one at 4:56, 5:33, 5:43, 5:44, 5:45, 9:25, 12:12, 12:14, pads like the ones at 0:00, 0:02, 0:50, 5:18, 9:24, 12:39, 23:27, 24:04, 25:31, 26:50, 27:02, 28:01, 28:49, 30:46, 33:11, stabs: 7:12, 7:48, 8:36, arps: 7:45 (all in the video i posted a link to). I'm really hoping someone or multiple someone(s) can break each one down step by step if its not too much trouble to ask; this is the sound that I'm striving for, and it would mean so much to me if I could get those lovely whooshing, sweeping, string-like 5th(?)/7th(?) pad chords with that low pass filter lfo sweep effect, specifically that rich modulated sort of crackly, lo-fi eeeeeeeeeooooooowwwwwwwwwwww sound. If no one knows how to do the fx then thats ok, what matters most to me is the pads first, then the stabs, lastly the fx and one arp. the pads i most want to emulate are: 5:18, 9:24, 25:31, 26:50, 27:02, 28:01, 28:49, and 30:46 (26:50 and on of these may very well be the same synth). So theres four I guess. Hope it's not too much trouble to ask. I looked up what a lot of these producers were using, and there were a lot of vintage korg synths involved so i got a bunch, im hoping some of you have expertise in the area of synthesizing with korg vsts, since ive already got that stuff i cant really buy other plugins at the moment.
