Where is it from? Where can I get it? Why is it in so many songs?
the think break http://www.sendspace.com/file/lmbbim
Damn that's shit whack. but inna god way.
So there's the Amen & think, any others I should know about?
What is that sound, originally? Just a snippet of song that made it into the sample and the rest is history?
There used to be a vinyl series with only breaks on it. All the classics are on there (chicken or the egg)
Here's a overview of some of m:
The 'Think' break is one of my all time favourite breaks and the handful of versions that exist come from Lyn Collin's 'Think (about it)' written in '72. The drummer's John 'Jabo' Starks...
The first is the 'yeah whooo!' bit sampled at 1m22-24sc which is part of the vocal that EZ Rock scratched up to make 'It takes two' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5IBRbzf3Fws.
The second is James Brown saying 'too bad...too bad baby' at 2m02-04sc (not 'ya bad sista' as I keep reading!) and appears in loads of jungle tunes.
Real bad ass break!
