Help with Slapping bass

Ive been plaiying bass for about 9 months now, and i love it. I play about 2 hrs a day. But the one thing i cant do..... for some goddamn reason........ is slap my A string. Just cant make a good sound. keeps rining the E string and i just plain cant get a good sound. Any advice on how to keep tghe e muffled and hand positions and the like?

Might be the wrong forum for this, but try muting the E string with the pad below your thumb of your right hand, or with a finger of your left hand.
