help needed - barcode type for vinyl releases.

does any one know the barcode type for 12" record releases?

eg. UPC - A // EAN -13 etc

also if anyone knows a reliable barcode generator online
that kicks out EPS files, link me up.

yeah, but these are two different formats and each one has lots of variations.

i have a 13 digit barcode number, so i would guess it's UPC-13, but i don't want to be responsible for
getting it wrong!

i'm helping a label with a release and basically no-one knows what they are doing when it comes to
the barcoding, not even the label management company :rolleyes:

but for me as a designer, it would also be beneficial for me to be able to produce them for the future.

Normally its the distribution end that sorts out the barcoding. Well in my previous experiences any way. Where are you intending to put the code? I just buy a code thru my distro.
 
it's a full vinyl release, so the code needs to be on the artwork.

i believe the printers are adding the barcode now, but if they put
it out of line with my design i will be furious!

lol.
