well if shes just using it to blast out some tunes and not for production then there's not much point in getting studio speakers. you'd get alot more volume from just getting some hi fi speakers or set up and that can be hooked up with an aux cable to the laptop.

you'll probably find with studio speakers that they need either an amp or interface to hook them up to a laptop.

i'd say go for a hi fi system.

i bought this for listening to tunes, playing games and watching films.

really nice for the dosh, great clarity and awesome bass. considering their price if you spend anything more you'll get somthing good.

all you need to hook them up to a lappy easy is an AUX to Red & White cable.

pop to an electrics store with your mp3 player and just try out some things.

Any 2.1 speaker system will do the job, as long as it's over £50.
