I play over 10 instruments and have a home-recording studio so create all sorts of styles of music. I plan on releasing an album that might fall into the category of Jungle (I honestly don't know what the genre-purists will label it as yet.. soo. We'll see.) so figured I'd sign up here to discuss production. I use a handful of other music forums but they don't receive much DNB love and are aimed more toward distorted guitar-driven genres.
So I figured I'd find a forum for this style.
As for DNB, I was tracking a song about a year or so ago and the sound of the snare I wanted in the introduction reminded me a ton of some music I heard from the video game Ape Escape when my cousin used to play it.. like a decade ago.
After finding the track that came to mind which is this one,

I was interested in listening to similar music which led me to discovering the atmospheric styles of DNB and I fell in love immediately.
