hard compressed ride/bell - effect

Does anybody know, how to make this "hard compressed?" - ride effect which is used in almost every new production by bse / n phect and so on?

For example you can hear it in thunderbolt (bse). The effect must be triggered by any sound, because in the break parts you can hear the uneffected ride or bell.

its very often sidechained via the kick or snare drum, which makes the ride cymbal sound like its swinging around outside the beat.
