Well hip hop is pretty much half the bpm of drum & bass so.. There is a curtain amount of crossover i think.

Feel like looking for instrumental hip-hop might be your best bet. J Dilla certainly comes to mind. There's loads of classic material by the likes of DJs Shadow, Cam, Krush, Kruder & Dorfmeister, etc. that would fit with what you're going for.
