A wise man once said - "Get The Fuck Up"

Today, we say RIZE. :gun:

Come see what real LA Drum & Bass is all about - Grapevinez has differentiated itself from all the rest into a D&B organization that I can honestly say I'm proud to be apart of. LA has a lot of the same old same, but not this time - come see what happens when you get together a crew of heads who truely love the genre. Witness the power and RIZE up!

MYKA 9

California has long been home for some of the finest talent in music. Continuing this tradition is L.A.'s own Myka Nyne (Michael Troy) the founding member of legendary group Freestyle Fellowship.

Myka champions his often-imitated, never-duplicated lyrical style around the world. Myka's contribution to the musical environment has saved lives by encouraging people around the world to "Freestyle" inspiring television and film subject matter. Myka has achieved BET/MTV video rotation, major publication exposure including Spin, Vibe, and Source magazines as well as the L.A. Times. Myka has good rapport with major radio personalities like Big Boi at Power 106FM, Eric Kobichi at 100.3FM The Beat, and Garth Trinidad at 89.9FM.

Myka has a great stage presence and has performed with under-current and main-stream artists/venues. Myka amazes audiences from headlining shows in L.A.'s El Rey Theatre, San Francisco's Marytime Hall for 2,500 hip-hop heads, sold out sets in L.A.'s Wiltern Theatre (Jurassic Five with Talib Kweli), 20,000 Freestyle enthusiasts attending the annual Cypress Hill Smoke Out. Myka appears by the request of Macy Gray at L.A.'s House of Blues, Wyclef Jean and Eryka Badu acknowledgement at the Hollywood Bowl, Busta Rhymes, Snoop Dogg, Outkast, Goodie Mob, D'angelo, Lauryn Hill, Mos Def...

A lot of people know or heard of Mikah 9 from Freestyle Fellowship. Many personalities in the entertainment arena respect Myka Nyne... Myka embodies artistic diversity, expressing diametric opposites in subject matter. Myka's musical approach is a challenge to market and promote as one artist, meanwhile making dollars and sense for Myka's fellow artisans and their respected investors! Myka creates progressive urban tracks for the songs he raps, and sings his mood swings...

BUSDRIVER

Possessing a hyper-literate, intellectual style of rapping augmented with dizzying elocution that would tongue-tie even the fiercest auctioneer, Busdriver is eclectic and eccentric enough to cite vocalese jazz singer Jon Hendricks as a primary influence. Born Regan Farquhar, the Los Angeles MC was introduced to hip-hop culture early -- his father wrote the screenplay to one of the earliest films focusing on hip-hop, Krush Groove. He began rapping at age nine, releasing his first record at age 13 with his group, 4/29, named after the 1992 L.A. riots. By the mid-'90s, Busdriver was a regular at the Project Blowed open mic, where he would meet future collaborators and underground luminaries like Aceyalone, Abstract Rude, and Freestyle Fellowship. And shortly after, the vinyl did flow. Busdriver guested on upward of 20 singles, and by 2001 he could no longer be contained by guest spots, releasing his first full-length, Memoirs of the Elephant Man. There were just as many detractors as supporters for his singular style, which was so densely packed it made his chosen name seem a reference for multiple-personality disorder, and the lo-fi production also left more listeners scratching heads than nodding them. His next album, This Machine Kills Fashion Tips (2002), continued in a similar manner before being trumped by better production and more focused rhymes on Temporary Forever the same year. Joined by another West Coast avant-garde MC, Radioinactive, and the breezy, fractured pop of electronic producer Daedelus, Busdriver released yet another odd puzzle piece in 2003, Weather. Fear of a Black Tangent followed on Mush in 2005. After moving to Anti/Epitaph, the rapper issued RoadKillOvercoat, which featured production from Nobody and Boom Bip.

:bounce::bounce:This a dream for any hip hop head/junglist!! Don't sleep on this!! Hive w/ Busdriver & Myka 9 with some of the finest talent Los Angeles and Orange County has to offer!! This is monumental and not to be missed!!

Los Angeles based Drum and Bass artists DipVertigo and MC J-TEC unified in 2006 to become “Maximum Moves”. Their debute cd Maximum Moves "Volume One" released at Grapevinez yearly event, Legendz, bringing something unique an energitic to the stage when DipVertigo picked up a mic while in the mix. In 2006 Maximum Moves made appearances at Monster Massive, History IV, Groovy and in early 2007 at Respect. Now, catch this phenomenon at RIZE as they release their second cd, Maximum Moves Volume 2 on 3 "Journey to a Special Place" and see how this duo has raised their game to the next level.
