**Note: this is a braggin thread. If you get offended by bragging threads, i strongly advice you not to read any further. Thanks for reading** YES MOuTHErfUCKeRsSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!! YES YES YES!!! i got a new shizznizz PC , common!!! im sure my abcence from the board fueled loads of speculation and rumors as to where ive been. People were going mental, and started 10 page long threads all over the dnb cyber community , and im pretty sure a few peeps suggested that i was kidnaped and sold as a sex slave to rich Saudi arabis. Well, yes, that did happen (only once tho...), but the main reason dnbforum had been safe from my awfull sence(?) of humor for so long, is that my old system realised that its ultimate purpose on earth was fullfiled, and escaped its samsara... (with a little help ) but santa decided i was a good badboy last year, and got Gordo a sweet 64bit athlon, with 1gb ram, and more storage for child porn the vatican will ever need. next step a decent soundcard, and i goes into producin. expect poor quality tasteless tunes really soon. [/braggin] right, so YES!! once again, and nice to meet you all!
welcome back! what did you upgrade from? whats the peformance like with routine tasks? i'm intrigued with how fast these things really are
well, routine task dont seem to have any mind blowing added perfomance. They just run like my old P4 1200 did, on its good days, and there were quite a few bad days.. but i expect the extra $$ to go in running hardcore applications, Cubase etc, coz, face it, winamp aint gonna run any better, no matter wot rig you got. But music programs got potential far further than my 3000 athlon, so id expect em to run smoother than before.. i just hope i actually do somefing creative on my PC, otherwise i just spend a £grand fer d/l porn...
I thought the 64-bit extensions only ran when used with 64-bit software I didn't think it had any performance upgrades across non 64-bit software (sorry mean been a techy geek). Also what's the Athlon like we got some pimp notebooks on our website at the mo cheap as chips with 512MB RAM & a combo drive
sweet but ive always been the underdog's fan, so AMD is my pref. plus its cheaper... Sayber, ye true that bout 64 supperiority only on 64 platforms. Still tho, is good to know the cpu has more to give that what you throw at it. (jus like a car with a big fuck off motor, ya never gonna test its limits, so its unlikly to brake) Having said that tho, windows 64 are knocking about on teh web, and SX3 is designed for 64bit. I reckon that has *experiment wiv dual boot ting* written all over it... and yes, ive got a job at Microdirect, and fer those who dun know, its propably the cheapest PC store, and , how convinient for me, its in Manchesta....nice..! :nadia:
