A - MASH DEM

    -Track description:

San Diego producer Calculon has been building a solid reputation as a talented new-comer to the global dnb scene. His solid production style has seen him releases on major liquid labels such as 'FFR', 'Rubik' and the mighty 'Fokuz', as well as taking on the role as A&R rep for 'Rubik Records'. Calculon's first release for 'Golden Orb' kicks off with the tough but funky roller 'Mash Dem', a tune sure to pump some fire into any liquid dj's set! The track kicks off with smooth jazz keys, glissando tuned percussion and a funky guitar lick, but wastes no time in building into the bass drop hitting nice and early with no messing around! The main drop whilst maintaining the smooth, jazzy arrangement switches things up with an unrelenting 808 bass stab and heavy amen influenced percussion, creating an exciting blend of dance-floor energy and deep soul sounds.

    B - DEPTH PERCEPTION

    -Track description:

'Depth Perception' brings the pace back a little from the A side tune with a deeper and slightly spooky vibe. The track kicks off straight into the beat accompanied by uneasy, dissonant saxophone multiphonics and slowly builds with subtle fx and spooky key's before the main drop hits on bar 64. Watch out for the bass line on this one; funky with heaps of movement but working in solid tandem with the drawn out and spooky vibe of the accompaniment. The addition of arabic horn samples are the icing on the proverbial cake, providing heaps of interest and character whilst effectively highlighting the overall theme of the track. Solid rolling dnb with deep vibes thats sure to get people sleuthing around the dance!

    Cheers for listening :)
