moved into a small room and got vinyl everywhere at the moment, making it really difficult to knuckle down and get mixing sorted. seems to be annoying me as i got so much in such a small space it just throws me of what to play.

anyone had this!? not sure why it is but its fucking me off o the point i amnot mixing as much as i should be! just getting annoyed with it!

Yup, moved from a large double room to a small box room 6" x 7" with built in furnature which meant I had no room to do anything, used to piss me off royal. Then my decks broke, really couldnt be arsed replacing them or getting them fixed. So my vinyl ended up in the wardrobe for a good few years.

Finally moved out now, got a reasonable sized room, borrowed some decks bought a mixer so the vinyl are back out.

    serato/traktor.

this is the otehr big benefit, i only have 2 flight cases for my vinyl as i don't have much, thus don't need much space.

might be hard to swallow but i rate it'll help you get back into it..

true man, its an investment for sure, expensive short term but will save you eventually (plus gives you the scope to mix other genres as well should you want to, can easily spend a tenner and get 10 or so housey tunes and see if you dig it or not, rather than spending closer to 50 for the same amount on vinyl

ive been getting annoyed with mixing recently.
since jumping on serato i have had trouble knocking anything up. its been months since ive recorded a mix.
dont really know what it is. probably physiological but i have spent far less time mixing than i used to.
i think i miss the excitment of getting records in the post and rushing home to spin them.

Yeah I haven't been mixing as much lately, and I don't know why really.

Serato/traktor appeals to me more each day, it's like you said though Tone it's buying serato and then having to buy a laptop, how decent does the laptop ideally need to be?

At a guess, I am pretty certain its not the lack of space, or, the effect that the reduced room to manouvere has on your respective creative drive.

I imagine, its mainly to do, with you being such a masive Tea Recepticle...

I live in a 6m^2 room, but I built like a platform for my bed and various furniture in there so it's effectively 10m^2 and the birds are well impressed that I was able to construct something proper. 200£ in materials - though everything's fucking expensive over here - best investment ever!
