Getting a signal in ableton.

Right i have my audio interface set up now, mic is plugged in but im just not getting a signal in ableton?

I think its somthing to do with the preferences in ableton but i just cant get a signal.

Something like "output device" in the preferences section. look up and select your fast track.

what computer/operating system are you using? if you are using windows, are you runnning your mic into the line in or mic port?

make sure that they are enabled and turned up in the audio 'adjust audio properties) settings (right click the volume icon)

and if thats cool... then make sure an audio track in ableton has the line in selected

failing all that, google it, thats how i learnt ableton!

i have selected the fast track in windows and in ableton and armed the channel in ableton and it still wont work lol, its very strange why it wont, im sure it will be one simple thing i havent done but i just cant figure out what!!!
