Before i take the plunge and order this sexy mixer, are there any alternatives in its price range (£136) to consider?

Iv had a gander at the Behringer DJX700 (Ugly), the Kam KCM-400MKII and the Numark DXM-06 which i have played on before, but i keep coming back to the Gemini.

My advice would be to hold out and save a bit more money then buy a mixer that you won't want to upgrade in 2 years time.

i wouldnt really recommend gemini. if youve got around 150 and your looking to get a mixer now, i would say your best bet is probably a second hand well built mixer. you can pick up decent vestax mixers of ebay for this price and sometimes less. just a heads up.

You can't get that one anymore.

They still do the black one though. £199 for the Vestax VMC-004

don't buy any of those mixers they are all craptacular companies. Stanton is about the best of the budget mixers, and they aren't anything great.

You are better off looking for a used one, than to buy a cheap new one.

save up another 50 notes and get a urei 1601 from htfr.com or save 100 and get some effects/sampler action on it.

i had a gemini pmx briefly and it felt like it came out of a xmas cracker! faders were sticky and the cross fader bled after a few months. it did have nice kill switches with lock/flash function though....

ive got the behringer djx700 for £140, and it sweet n sound mixer.

only things about it i wouldnt rate are :

    1. BPM counters that dont work (tbf i havent seen any that do properly, and i dont know anyone who actually wants to use em)

    2. built in fx are pretty poor, but again, thats something i dont bother with.

    3. the master does 'red' quite easily if u go any higher than 7, but having used this in a club and at home at high volumes and it still sends addiquate signal from the master at 7.
The fact the master is a fader next to the channel faders is annoying, bluetac it!

I was also thinkin' about upgrading to the Gemini PS626 EFX, but now I'm lookin' harder at my other alternatives.

    Behringer DJX700
    Pioneer DJM400
    AmericanDJ MX1400DSP

    Any thoughts?
