it scared me shitless and i slept very uneasily all night last night, awash with intense nightmares. there was only one scene after about 3/4 of the movie when i could relax when i realized who paul (michael pitt) was, hes the unstoppable evil incarnate, a grip used commonly by the cohen brothers. its 110 minutes and it goes from maybe six in the afternoon to six in the morning, which gives it plenty of time to let each gut wrenching scene run its full course. i think it was 24 with kefier sutherland that had that thing first when the episode lenght is equivalent to about the same amount of time in the story kind of thing, and there are no major time leaps of time in the movie. the use of music in this movie is brilliant (there isnt any), and it lends a very uncomfortable presence to the film. specially the bit with the metal. i first heard of this movie from tuna and maloney, they said i looked like the guy in funny games (us version) which i thought was pretty cool as hes an ok looking guy, not to say downright handsome. after seeing the movie though, i wonder if that really was a very good thing at all. you seen this movie? tuna this movie was intense
Re: funny games u.s How could you be scared of something you starred in surely you knew everything that was about to happen.
Re: funny games u.s It is pretty damn intense. With the music you already mentioned and the camerawork. Like the scene in the livingroom where they use the same camera and rolling for about 10 minutes straight. I wondered there should be some connection of the last conversation on the boat about different universes and the whole plot. Like the remote control thingy and Paul talking to the camera. I'm just too stupid to thoroughly understand it. Good movie.
Re: funny games u.s I liked it espescially when he done the dog with the golf club and it fell out the back of the car. I loved the coolness of the fellas real professionals killing the kid first was awesome confused me for a bit, bit shocked, then I thought "wow he fucking killed the kid"
Re: funny games u.s alright, let me change the title, but beleive you me, weve given away nothing at all really
he isnt, as such, but naomi watts does the most curious thing, she gets naked, under the threat of violence and strangely enough its a complete and utter turn off
Re: funny games u.s i knowwwwwwww, and hes in the kitchen!!! grabbing stuff in the fridge, hes like 'anybody want anything?' fucking pulled the ground from right under me
The most excruciating bit is when they say "Right goodbye then" and leave and the woman is trying to get the mobile to work that scene is intense, you know they gotta come back but it keeps you wondering.
The only movie I seen thats as excruciating as this is Last House on the Left. I like these no hope kind of movies where you dont get a happy ending not enough of these in my opinion.
truly, 'the strangers' scared the shit out of me too, its a movie on the same note kind of, did you see that one?
Yeah that was real good too. There good because unlike other horror/thriller kind of movies you can actually believe these things could happen. My favourite bit was when he blasted his mate with the rifle that made me chuckle.
the starngers was cool man. no music at all just like suspense packed strings i think. very tense film.
