Fruity Loops: Beat volume overlapping

I use FL studio and let's say if I have to beatpatterns with equally high volume one of them still overlaps the other beatpattern. It's really disturbing because I can't make proper beats if one sample is going to outtake the volume of the other. How do I fix this? Could it be that I have a bad soundcard or something?

They're probably taking up the same frequency ranges, so they're conflicting with each other.

Why would you want to overlap two beat samples anyway? Surely if you're going to use samples instead of writing your own beats your better off using one break sample, then layering single hit kicks and snares over that???

Also you might have a limiter on the master channel, FL has that by default which is really stupid. Take that out if it's there.

I have never encountered problem like this but maybe you could try normalazing the samples?

did you turn vol env on and use the piano roll?
