Edit the samples first, using Audacity

Once you've edited them down, import them into FL6.

Yep, most of the time any wave editor that's built into the sequencer software isn't strong enough - you need to get a stand-alone wave editor for the heavy duty stuff

I use Steinberg Wavelab

One of FL's only shortcomings, that its Wave Editor can't edit MP3s (for the longest time, FL couldn't even _READ_ MP3s, and I still convert any MP3 samples to wav before I use em in my FL projects. I suppose it's good practice too, because decoding MP3 files in realtime uses more CPU than just playing back PCM wav files).


Had to do this exact thing when I made my entry for the Knowledge Mag remix competition, right pain in the fucking arse having to cut up a bunch of MP3s with the various samples in, took me fucking ages.
