I use AVG, IT bloke at my mums work told me to use it, just as good as Norton or McAfee.

If you've gone back to the original factory image you may well have a month's free trial lurking around?

google: Microsoft Security Essentials, all you need is your product key on the bottom of your laptop.

As someone said on here before, who better to create a security system for Windows than Microsfot?

I would recommend Avast Anti Virus Home Edition Free (its what the police use), Windows Firewall, Spybot Search & Destroy for Spyware/Adware and finally CCleaner for cleaning up temporary files and repairing the registry (cleanup operation, needed after installing/unistalling programs as false values get put in/left in the registry, this can cause the whole system to go tits up or unstable, CRASH). Google that lot and you've got yourself a free internet security/maintenance suite. No need to google Windows Firewall though as it's already on the operating system. Note Spybot is only geared for protection whilst using Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox, as you can only immunize against threats in these particular browsers. Trust me I have a degree in computers lmfao.

    Had macafee for years.

AVG is way better, more customizable and comes with a nifty pc tune up thing wich scans your whole computer for duplicate files, lists them via directory path and allows you to delete anything unwanted or duplicates! i found this very usefull!
