As you may of heard the great godfather has been banged up for 4 years in dubai , for half a joint! yep thats right,
4 years for half a spliff!!!

Although i am not a huge fan of the use of cannabis, i think this is such an outrage that a very much loved musical hero can be abused and used to make a silly point, just because hes a public figure! He is one of the great founders of Britsh drum and bass. He has brought so much joy and touched millions of people worldwide with his musical and entertainment ability!

GIVE US OUR GODFATHER BACK!!!

That petiton is supported by A LOT of people in the scene,i for one was sent the link to it by Fabio,Bailey,Chris @ Metalheadz and Nicky BM and all the 'Free The Rider' groups on FaceBook all link to it as well.

Clicking and signing it aint gonna hurt is it?
 
Clicking it is meaningless and distracts from what might help, write a letter to Dubai or buy his music.

In fact, the way it is written it might hurt Groove.
 
So if the petitions useless why would buying a cd of Grooves help matters?

indeed, but that isn't my point. this will just fall on deaf ears however well intended.

maybe support from a source close to the The Al Maktoum family could sway an early release. otherwise, as i have said before, Grooverider's best hope is to be pardoned as a gesture of goodwill when Eid ul-Fitr happens in October.

The Prime Minister (an Al Maktoum family member) pardoned 377 inmates from Dubai prisons (for Eid al-Adha - December last year) including a Canadian on a four year sentence for 0.6 grams of hashish and two poppy bulbs.
