    Hey all...
Ive finally got my first gig tommorow night DJing ata house party.
im a house/electro dj but i dabble in DnB but cannot for the life of me mix it :(
luckily the kids there are all into top 40s music so my dnb mixing wont be evaluated much :)

the party starts at about 8 so what would you say is a good time to start my set?
gonna go progressive house, electro house, trance, hardstyle, drum n bass, gabber...
i know its not got much mixing involved between genres but its not that kind of party anyway...

    ANY tips?

I once went to a Nine Inch Nails gig, and got chatting to some undercover goths. I said to them "Whats with these fuckers?", I've never seen such a hurrah in my life, how was I supposed to know, they were wearing Football Shirts. 2 of my mates could see what was happening so we made a unpenetrable triangle and invited them into it, but there wasnt any takers.

    Beware of undercover goths.

Wait what are we talking about here? No, I havent had any gigs but I'd smash the fucking shit out of the place with Nigerian Blues if I did.

Defo start playing the DnB later on in the eve, when everyone's pissed etc. I wouldn't play gabba, not unless you wanna clear the floor.

Robs got it in one pretty much hahaha it is kinda dangerous to play anything with any musical quality to it up here...not that i dont like the energy gabba has its just not musical hahaha

Im not really going gabba for long. All the kids there LOVE angerfist. So ill just frop the megamix at the end of the night and see how it goes :p

    Well ive done it...

    Was pretty terrible hahaha

Before i even started i got my frst tracks matched to make it easier for myself. then 5 minutes later my best friend spills gin on my deck and while wiping it a snap the stylul :L
so i had to improvise and completly get rid of the setlist and work 1 cd 1 turntable.
BUT! my DnB mixin was on good for for a change hahaha

    pieces - chase and status
dr feels good - original sin
give it to me - clips
    rock it - sub focus
    machete - hazard :)P:p)

Probably not an impressive selection of tunes for you real DnB guys but it went down well with the party.

I was told everyone enjoyed my set though and a few people said they would consider booking me for a party.
also i got a near booking for a school disco in the coming weeks so i cant complain :D

AND the Gabba went down best of all hahaha went from machete and slowed it to a stop then laid out the angerfist megamix to finish up, had the whole party bouncin to the Gabba hahaha

Ive gained experience and beginning of a reputation in the area though for next time so thats the main thing.

    Jayded, OUT :D
