Tune In, Turn On, Drop Out- Box-E

Been producing for about 5 months now, first track that I'm really happy with.
Any feedback would be sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.
Mainly compositionally, still new to drum and bass. Been listening to a whole heap of Bukem/Pho-tek etc.
Also pretty much basic mastering/levelling
And even just plain simple whether you like it or not!

Thanks!

you can hear photek influence right away ;)
Like the tune mate,
Intro needs a little more work, drop is bit sudden.
Personally I wud make drum come more forward.
Like the chilled vibe in dnb so I like this one mate.
In tunes like that there is a lots of space for
a nice ideas, I wud add some synth line,
or just synth touches.
Hope that helps/
Cheers.

ye really like this kind of style and youre drums have got a pretty nice flow. like what paracyte said i was expecting to hear some nice synths or samples to give it a bit more character but real nice work mate

cheers for the feedback guys. i kinda wanted it to be more minimalistic with the focus being the drums and the ambient noises. anyone else?

I'd be careful with adding too many new drum drums if you're determined to focus on the percussive, rather do a bunch of different high hat and ride patterns.

Just do a forum search for "mixdown" and "mastering", Jace.

arthurso, that's a fine piece of music, If I didn't know you were a beginner I would of thought an old school head made that,,, little boxy sounding though,,,,

do you use samples?if so where do you get them?

sweet track mate..for me the bongos/congos whatever they are are a lil too much in the front of the mix
n as said before the drums could be made more present in the mix
add a synth or 2 n u got urself a maad tune!

but great work considering this popped ur dnb cherry ;)
