First crack at dnb

This is my first propper crack at somthing in the dnb tempo, I usually make technoesc stuff, it's not perfect, i'd like your comments

I was trying to make somthing that sounded like a 1990 liquid funk tune, I dont know how well i've achieved. I studyed a few old tunes like Fellowships "Devided Soul" and sort of used them as a guide for structure seen as it's my first go, hence "Painting by numbers":

Made totally on Nuendo with VSTi soft-Synths and drum machines. No samples.
 
I'd like to hear it be less technoesc :/ Othwerwise not bad.

drums need to sound more badboy and real tho. Keep it up tho! great for a start
 
good start! i think with some more experience you could get a really good sound mixing your 'techno' side with dnb. gotta get with the ghost snares tho. try layering your drums over a break. amen or the funky drummer always seem to work well. cheers!
 
Ime new to the game aswell mate I think your tune is good drums need a bit of work but all in all good stuff keep it you will go far
