    Hi guys,

I am still working on my EP including neurofunk and liquid funk, but as a side-project I started to play and fool around with jungle beats.
I am a big fan of LTJ Bukem and Alaska, so I'm searching for this ambient-based liquid jungle sound.

Here's a little preview of what I am working on now.. perhaps one of you has some suggestions.

I am particularly interested in how to enhance the drums in the mix and how to add some persistent/useful hats.
(Now I only have a kick without low end going back and forth as hats xD)

Well.. tell me what you think!
    Cheers,
    Nucleoid

Love the LFO effect on the piano tail. For the hats you could try getting a drum loop/break that you like & extract the groove, then apply to your own programmed drums. Or slice the loop/break extract to midi delete the snare and kick hits then assign different hat samples to the midi data... if you see what I mean!? Also consider using percussive loops perhaps created for different genres, electro-house loops work surprisingly well.

Not completely sure what you mean..
It's not really the rhythm that bothers me to find, it's the mix-in and the samples that I'm unaware of.. I just don't know which samples are cool and how to use them for the hats at this point.
What I am after is something like this:

I did however try to recreate the oldskool jungle hats a bit.. Not sure if I nailed it, but I'll upload a new version in a bit, still working on the track :)

wow nucleoid, pretty amazing stuff =)
    something completely different.
To enhance the drums I suggest adding a ride cymbal, not to frequently though.
And I would love to feel a warmer bass when the kick hits, I'm not really feeling the current bass.

Just updated the whole lot, gave it some more ride hats, although I'm not sure if I am going to keep them this way entirely.
The bass needs a big change, I'm aware of that, but this is just a few hrs work :)

Really good man. Only think I did not like was was the wobble on the piano tale. It was to... something I can't put my finger on. Intense possibly.
    Really pretty loved the melody.

I could try and lower the % the lfo affects the sound maybe :)
Also I'll fill out the whole lot with more ambient stuff, so there's some more things to listen to.

Anything else anyone would like to add before I continue again? ^^
