Hello Boss,

I use a plug-in called 'ultra-maximiser' from the 'waves' software bundle. It basically makes your final wav as phat as possible so that it can be cut to a good quality.

Sorry about the CAPS all the time!! Bad habit... will stop being lazy from now on!!

either of the above will do the job. just don't push em too much. also, i'd cut everything below 30Hz (use one of the waves parametric eqs). this will give more headroom for the rest of the mix.
