Im purchasing a new bass for gigs, and ive decided on 3 basses, fender p, fender deluxe active jazz, and ibanez srx-400 (has a MM style p/u, and a very kool look to it). Im ina a punk band, so if you have ne in put on the bass i should pick for the sound i want (punk) id appreciate it thanx.

If you can find it, get a Maverick B1 Custom. Its pricey but as well as the volume controls, its got two rollers on the plate, one assigned to each pick-up with reverb, so there's no need for pedals, and you can turn it on and off if you want to use pedals or hook it up to synths. If you don't want it or can't find/afford it, go for the active jazz, its not as cumbersome as the others, and sounds sweet as fuck.
