RANDALL
Randall started Djing at the age of 17 and was introduced to scratching and mixing by a friend who was connected with Dj Pogo and Cutmaster Swift, who were big in the game at the time in the 80’s.
Randall is definitely a natural when it comes to mixing; he spent hours refining his skills by studying music and making tapes every week back in the day. One of these tapes, in turn, got him a regular slot on legendary pirate Centreforce FM in 1989 sending Randall sound across the airwaves in London. It was here his reputation really started growing. He got offered slots at various illegal raves and warehouses, and was offered residencies at events such as “Orange” and “Awol/World Dance” alongside Fabio, Grooverider, Mickey Finn, Kenny Ken, Darren Jay...history was in the making.
Randall's style has always been fluid and probably always will, but changes in his selection have been noticeable in the past couple of years, with more emphasis on darkside flavas than before. Randall is simply reflecting what's going on around him and, even though some might say his sound has got 'darker’, he inhabits that overlap between 'jump-up' jungle and 'darkside' drum & bass. He's always had broad tastes and, as long as those beats are running, there's easily enough room in his set to contrast a wide range of styles.
JUNGLIST ALLIANCE
Hailing from Sheffield a handful of local DJs and MCs with a common interest in music came together to form the Junglist Alliance. Links up with Jungle / Reggae acts Daddy Freddy, DBO General and Bongo Chilli are growing stronger, and their Sheffield-based events are unstoppable!
CHAPPY
Now this man is definitely still stuck in the golden days of raving. His favoured styles are 1992-1995 U.K old skool, jungle and also loves trance from 94-97. Chappy was an NY Sushi soldier and regular. Chappy has been a resident at Feedback since 2005. He also makes regular appearances Room 303, Future Breaks, and Leviticus in Luton. Expect some dred basslines through to early drum and bass anthems.
NU SHOT
Nu Shot (noel) is heavily into what he calls hardcore jungle techno, music from labels like Reinforced, Basement, Formation Records. Nu-Shot was also heavily influenced by the 92/93 Awol tapes with residents Kenny Ken, Randall, Mickey Finn, DR S Gachet and was a regular at events like World Dance, Dreamscape, One Nation, Helter Skelter.
