ok so ive been watching angrt video game nerd lately, i hope youll excuse me if i go off on one for a little:
spiderman vs kingpin (all time fave, sooo awesome)
sonic 1 (seeeeeeeeeegaaaaaaa)
alien syndrome (all golden axe engine games were basically win)
shinobi 3 or shadow dancer but really its all about shinobi 1
altered beast (because the charachters were so flipping huuuuge, i was used to tiny side scrolling figures but the size of these charachters were just enormous and that felt good, really futuristic and 16 bit)
mickey mouse (possibly the best game ever made for the console)
xmen 2 clone wars, ren and stimpy (the most glorious side scrollers but i had quit playing long ago and got these for emu)
dick tracey (for its ingenious control system)
eswat (really wooden but the powerup thing is pretty rad)
samurai showdown, fatal fury, the penultimate fighters for the genesis, but lets be clear
the snes games that were released for the genesis, like street fighter II,
all felt soooo b after having had the snes controller with all its perfect controls and you were now confined to this plasticy rickety very basic (1 extra button. its got ONE extra button), lets face it,
the controller got pretty shoddy pretty soon, specially compared to the snes super tight 12 button marvel

That game was shit, almost as infuriating as Ghosts and Ghouls or whatever it was called, finally start to think your getting somewhere and some bastard offs ya, then back to the start, so angry right now

Castle Of Illusion!!!
Worms.
Urban Strike.
Jungle Strike.
Home Alone was a strange one. Proper tough. I think I managed to only ever save two houses in that game.

I think the first time I saw Sonic though was the only time I've ever been left speechless, something that left you completely dumbfounded in its awesomeness, constantly going round mateys house to play it, hours on end, I think from that point on everythings been taken for granted "meh, yeah its alright", round the same time Terminator 2 came out, blew my mind also, SL2 - On A Ragga Tip, suppose it was my generations version of hearing The Beatles for the first time, watching a TV, something that was never in your imagination
