Okay folks, this is the last mixtape I've done this year, it was done for the occassion of reaching 100 likes on my facebook fanpage and also as a reminder of my ex-girlfriend (I know, lame :teeth:). Aaanyways, basically it's just 135 minutes full of soulful liquid and deep tunes so I guess some of you might as well like it and give it a listen :)
It would be great to have some feedback as well, the usual stuff. Due to its length and file size it's currently just on my mixcloud for you to stream, but I'm gonna sort out a DL link soon, bear with me. Hope you'll enjoy! :)

Cheers Stu, I'm glad to hear that! Tbh as much as I'm proud of that Eatbrain mix and as much as I don't like to make such statements by myself, I think this one might be the best mix I've done as of yet, a lot of effort has gone into it :)
 
In now. Love how u said it was a soulful liquid mix then bam 2nd trak Rockwell My War ha ha. Mix was dope tho. I like double drops but when the trak is taken out sometimes it just makes the newer trak not as powerful when the other one is taken out. My War/ Real Life is a perfect example of this. Mix was so good on the double drop but when My War is taken out it's kind of like ehhh..... IMO. Having said that Protection was spot on ha ha. Dragonfly into Blue Eyes was dope. everything before that was solid. Ha ha Sound of the Rain nice. I thought me and Royalston were the only 2 people with that trak ha ha. Got taken out pretty quick but sounds dope with Saffron. Let me go and Fade was a dope mix. Just Play mix was even better. No Ordinary Love is a good sneak tip trak..... not alot of people know that one. Red and Suddenly VIP was sick... nice one. Have to stop now will finish the rest tomorrow.

I dont know how you young cats do it. Im 51 minutes in and haven't heard you slow or speed the tempo up to match the beat yet. I would like to think i have a pretty good ear but no way could i mix this fast and be this clean.
 
Cheers mate, I know what you mean about the energy dropping down when the tune gets off the mix, was my bad obviously, I try to do it slowly to make it feel more natural, but fucked up this time on My War for sure, sorry about that :) There's actually a pretty obvious speed up on No Ordinary Love booty, picked the wrong time to nudge the jog and it hits the pad, so it squeeks, but tbh I really tried to make it sound perfect, so spent some time practicing before recording (that's what I usually do with "studio" mixes anyway). Thanks for the kind words tho, I'm glad to hear you like it so far :)
 
ok back in now.... had to do some training at the old grindstone ha ha. I thought i might have heard something on No Ordinary Love but it was so subtle i didnt really pay much attention to it. Thought i heard a little something on Sendai Song and Nocturne. Traks worked really well together. A little vocal clash when The Place mixes in. Bye Your Side /Loved U So .... another dope one. Scratch that Loved U So/ Hurt and Pain.... crushed it! Came in a little loud but so dope. Came out of it with Love Dub kind of weird.... but I'm guessing it was cuz u needed time to set up the Solid State Dreams mix which was nice. A really solid mix for as soon as you had to throw it in.... a blind mix if you will. Is this 3 decks? We Were Always One worked very well .... love this trak as well. Props on the double drop with We Were Always One I know how tough of a mix that was and with a single clap on the bouble you nailed it. Loved the Rags into Too Real mix mang.... probably my favorite mix so far..... top shelf. Essential Forms and The Unspoken worked really nice...... Overdue as well. Oblique VIP and Lost was big ....... thats the business right there. So Just finished and I enjoyed it mang.

Wanted to give you some decent feedback and let you know that somebody listened to it since i could tell you put a lot into this one. Over all some vocal clashes and some double drops that i talked about earlier with you but i thought it was well mixed and you could tell the traks u played had meaning weren't just strung together. Great job.

Also you dont have to answer this if you dont want but when you mix do you mix the trak in your headphones from the beginning until the break and then bring it in? I'm just wondering because I alwas try to mix from the very beginning and was lisening to the way you bring traks in and it doesnt sound like you do that.

Yeah, it is indeed 3 decks, still getting used to this tho, so I sometimes forget I have enough time to bring in another tune and take the previous one out too soon (well spotted on that Hurt & Pain > Love Dub > Solid State Dreams section).
What do you exactly mean by that last question? Is it about starting each tune from the very beginning? If so, then yes, I'm trying to work on my cue abilities so I can speed up my mixing a bit more, but that's not the case in this particular mix as all tunes here I mixed from the very beginning, the thing is there's a few occassions where I was playing it only in my headphones, waiting to bring it in only after taking the previous tune off the mix so there's not too much going on :)
 
Yeah thats what i was asking but now that i know it's 3 decks some of the mixes make more since and i understand how you were mixing. I thought it was 2 decks at first and was like this dude is killin it ha ha. it's still just as good it just makes more since now that i know it's 3 decks. Thanks for responding. Will definetely check for other mixes. That eatbrain was dope to by the way..... don't think i ever commented on it since everybody else was.
 
Managed to have most of this today, some really nice long blends, enjoyed this, still got the eatbrain mix in the rotation, cheers
