Allright, the time has come to join the ranks of those forum heads who already entered and also the time has come to reveal the more upfront side of my mixing. Although I usually do more concept-based mixes and post them here, this is somewhat more of an insight into the matter of what to expect if you'll ever see me playing out. A quick 30 minute mix loaded with different flavours suited for the dancefloor, I hope it won't scare you off tho. Any feedback is appreciated as always, so here it goes.

executed really well, i can totally relate that you mix such things since it didn't seem to be rushed anyhow, eq was close to perfection, the selection really diverse and i didn't notice one single slip. you're giving me a run for my money mate, big ups.

holy shit fg i didn't not expect a tracklist like this you know :teeth: i usually don't listen these heavy dancefloor mixes, but was interested what you've done there. and hey, it's dnb allright. plus sticking to one style isn't really healthy either. also, i myself sometimes secretly listen to skrillex & damian marleys make it bun dem lol.

anyway, bout the mix. well, it was heavy all right. can just imagine all the skanking and screwfaces on the dancefloor. like that rollup track actually. the mix with this and tidal wave + timewarp was badass. btw did you use 3 decks? too much stuff going on for 2 decks :) alo liked the mix around monolith - very nicely executed.

...and good luck in the comp! :)

Thanks mr. fuuz3r! I know what you mean, anyways I'm glad you liked it! And yeah, it's actually on 3 this time, 2 CDJs plus one software deck for teases/quick loading :) Hope to see your entry pop up here some time soon! And apparently I still need to spread some reputation around, oh well :teeth:

Probably one of the best mixes I've heard with Say Nothin' remix...enough said.

Technically a wicked section, my kind of style I like to listen to as well, never heard that Memtrix tune before, should be hitting Renegade Hardware to see Chris Renegade B2B with Memtrix but my ears are fucked at the moment so debating it. Mix into Monolith got me rocking. Everytime I hear Monolith its gives me energy.

Big ups FG & good luck with the comp. Shitloads of decent entries out there.

Hopefully will have my offering to the comp up either tonight or tomorrow...
 
Cheers Stu, yeah I get that so I'm glad you gave it a listen anyway :) And thanks for pointing out that second section as I'm proud of that one the most in this mix, this is actually the first time I've played Monolith in the mix and obviously I need to do it again, big tune! I need to spread some more reputation around etc. Anyways, looking forward to hear your entry, I bet it's gonna be massive :)

The 'cot' music intro was different to a lot of mixes I have heard recently, but could imagine it working well in a club. Not sure on the half timey bits for a slamming dancefloor mix. Would have imagined bringing the driving, full-rolling energy in personally. The switches between Run Riot vip & Make It Rain were clean, but the volume of 1 sounded a smidge lower when chopping the synth hooks in & out. Nice to heard Say Nothin rmx for the first time in a members mix. The half time energy in Make It Rain made Say Nothin rmx take off for the drop. Wicked mix when Roll Up rmx came in to Say Nothin, as Stu said, but would have liked to hear more of that mix. Tidal Wave's vocals started peaking into the mix. Vocals sat over the top of each other ok, with not much of a start vocal overlap. Timewarp VIP's vocals came in very well placed & the tune itself worked a treat with Tidal Wave (but they are both Subfocus tunes).

We Fall Away brings back memories of hearing it for the first time at a rave. The grown in Twisted was a nice contrast to the second part of We Fall Away. Discovery sat well in there. Goin In rmx.... weep, burr, wip-wip-wip-wip burr....duh. Skrillex, bugger off trying to produce dnb. Rant over. Second Skin, bit too screechy for me. Do It, bit too much of a mainstream 'radio dnb' vibe for my liking, same with Capsize, but that was a bit more complex. The breakdown with Capsize, with almost the majority of the intro of Monolith & blend was quality, taking the edge of Capsize into more familiar territory. Pretty sure I heard Feed The Machine in a mix the other day & it was nice to hear again out of Monolith. Fucking hell FG! :) That mix is tearing, super energetic & loved Monolith's hooks pushing through the complex drum rolls of Feed The Machine. Fav mix so far. Pitch Dryfter is a new one for me. Kept the energy going from the mix before, when that was in for full effect. Flavours of Afterlife rmx started easing & plinking their way in for the breakdown in Pitch Dryfter. If We Ever came into Afterlife rmx really well, both sets of piano hooks really complimenting each other & talking to each other.

Favourite mix was Monolith - Feed The Machine + the brief Say Nothin rmx - Roll Up rmx. The ride was blended very well, even though my ears weren't feeling the majority of the selection, but thats just personal perference.

Although the first couple of tunes aren't the style of DnB i like, i can appreciate what youve done and pulled it off really well
When the Rockwell remix came in though, it was pure fire !! An im loving the trap music so that Baauer Remix is quality the vocals over the top of that fit really well, and i hate that Subfocus track, but hate Timewarp even more so still didnt really tickle me, but still sounded good !

Must be a 3 deck mix cause the way We Fall Away came in, love that tune, then that Xilent tune came outta nowhere, that was pretty sick, but too much Ram sound for me.. and unfortunately for me, those sounds carried on, but the mixing was still tight and rolling well !!
When Monolith came in is where the mix really started for me, the track after that was heavy and that mix was large !!
Ended on a liquid vibe which i always love . Over all not really my cup of tea, but can really appreciate how youve put it together and im sure others will love it.. all the best for the competition dude :)
 
Not what I expected from you! but nethertheless i still really enjoyed most of it, some of it wasnt to my taste but obviously down to personal preference ;)

05 Sub Focus feat. Alpines - Tidal Wave [RAM/Mercury] really didnt know how this was going to go down but sounds sick with the vocals coming through from bauuer, and i only heard tidal wave the other day and was a little guilty pleasure of mine haha
06 Sub Focus - Timewarp VIP [RAM] I think tidal wave was a bit too overpowering, i know you had the bass coming through on tidal but the vocals form it just a bit too over powering for timewarp, nice mix though
07 Calyx & TeeBee - We Fall Away [RAM] love how this came in right as timewarp went into the break down! tiny bit out at the drop but quickly fixed
