DJ Hype and Pascal’s Playaz residency here in Farringdon is pretty much the stuff of legend - a unique and regular showcase for drum & bass in the capital that’s been running at 170bpm on the last Friday of every month since the year 2000.
This December, the club night reaches another landmark, its 150th instalment. To celebrate, the team behind Playaz are taking over all three rooms of the club on the day after Boxing Day, using their unique programming nous to put together the kind of lineup that would appeal to regulars and newcomers alike. The Brazilian flair of Marky joins Hype, Pascal, Hazard and the Playaz family in Room One whilst EZ, Hatcha, Fabio and Logan Sama headline Room Two with their variety of styles. Room Three features more drum & bass with appearances from Alix Perez, Marcus Intalex, Lynx, Krakota and Prolix.
“When we first started doing these nights we never thought we'd get to a ton and a half shows but the fact that we've reached the magic 150 mark just proves the longevity of the tunes and epic talent of our roster,” Pascal offers. “We think it's the perfect round off to a year of national celebrations and we won't be stopping the party any time soon.”
