Following on from the massive success of Matrix & Futurebound’s debut album ‘Universal Truth’, Futurebound is set to unleash a bunch of fresh material on his Viper Recordings imprint.
First up is an explosive 12” of mammoth proportions from Australian hotshot ShockOne.
Hailing from Perth, the epicentre of the Australasian Drum & Bass scene, Shock One (aka..Karl Thomas) is fast becoming one D&B's major talents. From his origins in a metal band alongside his buddies Rob & Gareth from Pendulum, Karl has subsequently found a powerful musical voice of his own, releasing a string of successful 12"s such as 'Silverscreen', 'Dropping Science', 'It's on' and 'Further away from me' all on DJ Friction's shogun audio imprint as well as last years hit 'Let me Go' on Incite records. Now 2007 see's him joining forces with Viper Recordings so prepare for his best work yet!
‘Don’t You Know’ features the uplifting vocals of Elisha King and has been getting more reloads than an automatic pistol! You will instantly recognise this mood enhancing summer anthem and if you don’t then you must have been living in a cave for the last 6 months. On the Flip ShockOne shows his much heavier side, with the blistering sounds of 'Shock Resistance' a heavy alternative to the A side that makes this 12” essential pickings. Both sides are currently being caned exclusively by every major player from Hype to High Contrast.

Moving onto their tenth release and Viper will be dropping a lethal 12” from the mighty Sigma, fresh from huge releases on Bingo and Charge, Sigma have been causing big waves recently and this next 12” is no departure from that formula. Futurebound has hand selected two prime cuts of Drum & Bass beef from the Sigma lads and it’s all fillet steak baby. ‘Hi Top’ has been receiving plenty of battering on the dubplate circuit and the flip ‘Dawn Alarm’ is no chump either, further proof that huge success beckons for Sigma and more evidence that Futurebound is no fool when it comes to A&R.
As if all that wasn’t enough Viper will be following all that in fine style with a super-heavyweight four tracker entitled the ‘Headroom’ EP. Plate one will feature G Dub’s ultra sick remix of J.Majik & Wickaman’s ‘Fleshwound’ backed with a new signing to Viper, T-Phonic, with ‘Keep Moving’, closely backing that monster up will be plate two, released the following week. The second 12” combines the banging remix of ‘Blind Cobbler’s Thumb’, reworked by Futurebound & Jaquan themselves and the soulful dancefloor killing power of ‘Until The End’ from Danish producer Soulmatic. Bigger than George Best’s bar bill!
