I have been listening to dubstep for around a year now, I heard there are different varients of it, any links to these?

I thought there were sub-genres such as rushstep and so on.

    Listen to Scuba....

I used to associate dubstep with all things shite about dnb, and then I opened my ears.

I still don't like the Skream / Caspa / Rusko model, but listen to some Scuba and some Martyn etc. Its deep, melodical and progressive.

Ahh ok.. I will check it when I head home.

I've put a wall between my ears and most dubstep before, but have really started exploring the genre and it has loads to offer. Scuba was the initial inspiration but I am happy to open my ears to more!
