Just got sent this DVD music CD compilation which is out in December documenting the rise of Dub.If you think it has no relevance to drum and bass try to imagine Drum and Bass ( which is another name for dub btw) happening...
looks pretty cool. I wonder if it mentions that early reggae was in fact heavily influenced by us soul music...Label is Uncivilised World,release date 18th December..:lighter:

It strange to see how in the 80's it was the UK that was holding the dub torch, and how it became much more of a multi cultural thing....and the first muci form where the producer made the music too....
 
No, this is not true, there's a lot of influences and characteristics that Drum and Bass/Jungle has taken from the whole Jamaican Dub Soundsystem scene, but they are definately not the same thing.

I think Stan meant that dub was sometimes referred to as 'drum n bass' music, before teh jungle ever came about. It was part of the MC patois. He''s not saying they're the same thing. (y)
