dub bass or dnb bass

Jungle and Drum and Bass are OBVIOUSLY more related than Dubstep and DNB, purely for the fact they are genres defined by a tempo and not a sound.... as with most dance music. I'd say most people would categorise 95% of stuff at 140 as Dubstep, and 95% at 170+ as DNB, regardless of drum patterns etc..

And @ Smarty: i'd say Grime and Dubstep grew up together kinda thing, always seen the evidence suggest its come from garage.

Eh???

So you're saying that jungle (the music that gave birth to DnB, or for many still is the prefered term over DnB) has less in common with Drum and Bass than Dubstep???

mmm, OK.

jungle have more similiar beat, dubstep have more similiar sounds, production technique ( sorry I am Bassline Smith maniac :D ) and alot bigger support from djs and producers. Its just my opinion, everyone can see it differently but at the end of the day dubstep is whats being played by dnb djs... not jungle or breakbeat even when these two have clearly alot more similiar beat structure.I know, around year 1996 dnb was born from jungle, but thats 14 years back, now its 2010,things changed alot after dubstep was invented :)
