Drum & Bass record store in Portsmouth...

Just doing a bit of market research for an idea a DJ i know had:

where is there in Portsmouth and the surrounding areas to buy drum and bass vinyl from? are there any specialist records shops, and if there was, would you buy from there?

How big is the DJ fraterity in Pompey? would a record shop be benificial and would it favour over the online d&b stores?

If you can answer any of the above or have anything to add, stick it in this thread or pm me (though i dont regularly check my emails from this system!)

i think hands on carry a small selection of dnb, also reflex records in albert road apparently have some too, and sometimes you can find entire collections of old skool dnb in Sweet Memories... sometimes real classics going for about 50p cos the guy who runs it doesnt know dnb :D

surrounding areas, dunno really.. there's VIP vinyl in chichester but their dnb selection isnt too hot either
 
yer i would like to hear bout this too!!!personally id rather go 2 pompey 4 records than go 2 dance 2 in guildford.they slack in tunes!

from my experience, in portsmouth:
- groovefinder
- hands on

dont want to say too much but groovefinder have some big plans for the near future, might be worth holding on for a little while.

:)
 
groovefinder is ok tho i recon another rekid shop would fuk everyting up cos there would be too much competition!
and theyd both go bust.

there aint much of a rekkid buying fraternity in pompey jus look at vurt the other nite !!!

dnb is nearly dead in pompey compared with most other cities

You hit the nail on the head there mate. Unfortunatley we dont have the demand other cities have for dnb, and that is reflected in our (Groovefinder's) stock level. There's no point me ordering shit loads of records of every week if there not gonna sell. Hopefully this will all change in the not too distant future.:thumbsup:
