Pretty much as expected. Shame Friction isn't in the best newcomer DJ category as I thought he had that award nailed down

Invisible should have been on the Label shortlist. Soooooo many good tunes released this year.

Critical need to win best label.

Half of this is ablsolute rubbish. It's slowly become a vote contest as the dj mag shitlist
Too bad... These awards could be very interesting to see everyones opinion

Oh dear..not even going into detail.

Krakota, newcomer..alright.

And even more ridiculous, Coppa?

Fuck this.

Who on earth is Cartoon?

Some shit that has been pushed by Liquicity

Who's Muzzy tho, never ever heard about him/her/them?

It has always been like that or at least the last couple years. it's a popularity contest and those that are biggest are the ones that will be winning, simple as.
You'd need to replace the public vote with a jury that actually has a bit sense and knowledge. If not you'll have all the kids vote for anything that will be pushed by UKF/Liquicity/RAM/Hospital.

Yea, definitely agree, but the problem is, who can judge, and be neutral? Everyone in the scene, is in the running...

I believe there would be enough people that work behind the scene, most people probably wouldn't know, that could be neutral. Or you force them to vote outside their affiliation etc.
Maybe not, I don't know but this way it's just meaningless really.

That... That sounds actually pretty good...

I filled my ballot out but I didn't "verify" or whatever they call it because it's pointless

Best DJ: we all know Andy's going to win
Best producer: Calibre (even though I think both LSB and Rene LaVice got snubbed)
Best MC: DRS
Best label: Spearhead (Soul:R got snubbed)
Best vocalist: Riya
Best festival/live act/club night: doesn't matter because I live 5000 miles away and the one act who was supposed to come here dropped out
Best track: The View
Best "newcomer" DJ: Frankee (he is a fine DJ, but I feel like highlighting the inanity of these newcomer awards)
Best "newcomer" MC: Coppa (same reason)
Best "newcomer" producer: Dawn Wall
Best remix: Paper Faces (Ivy Lab Remix)
Best video: Ghost (MY CHILDHOOD)
Best album: Sublimation

It's shocking that SpectraSoul got no love this year: the album was absolutely amazing and all the remixes they put out afterwards were gold.

LSB should have also been nominated for best producer, he was on absolute fire this year.

MonsterCat artist it would seem. Not exactly what I'd expect for a "track of the year".
not really my cuppa tea but I'm not bothered about that, its the fact it sounds exactly like a trillion other tunes which sound exactly like this. like dnb candyfloss, got no edge to it at all

according to some youtube comments this is a return to his "old school" sound. jeez...

this comment ftw
I've always wondered why Monstercat abbreviate Drum & Bass to "DnB".

This tune brings me back to the SPOR days.
