Do you 'get' Dubstep?

I wasn't really sure what dubstep was until I went to an event the other week and just did not enjoy it, great system and basslines but just not my cup of tea.

I dont like the really dirty shit that just has a horrible "riff" with a mediocre sounding bass.

But some artists are definately doing big things with it! And Like someone else said, its when someone drops that right dubstep tune at the right time! Eastern Jam at westfest just tore the fecking roof off!

Oh one more thing, the posters on the dubstep forum are fucking assholes.

EDIT: Wait? Im a poster there...

Dum and Bass takes up all my time. Finding new tracks and artists, hearing new mixes, mixing myself. I don't have the time to follow another genre without giving a lot less time to D&B.

Plus I'm not a big fan of what I've heard. And that "Bells" track on page 1 I feel has vindicated my decision to ignore the genre.

exactly the point i was getting across in my previous post. well said fella

dubstep to dnb is like what hitler was to the jews!

I don't think theres any connection anyway between D&B and Dubstep.

Dubstep grew out of the grime scene and the grime scene grew out of the UK garage scene....i've followed all three scenes from the beginning hence me getting it and loving it.
