This actually looks quite a fair competition, I'm feeling the whole "LIVE" mixes only thing

    On it.

so the mix you send in is a video mix? and the one with the most views gets to the finals?

Yeah but you have to do the video mix live so they can see your not cheating somehow. :D

this competition was muggy as it was based on unique views / most unique comments / star votes and a judges choice.

so - if you've out your video up today, you've got more chance of having 7000000000000 views/comments/star votes in 4 months time, compared to someone who put's their video up in 3 months and 30 days.

they couldn't seem to understand how that wasn't 'fair' as 'everybody had the same chance/opportunity.

and again, i know i'm probably going to agg by ASR staff here for expressing my point (again) but i don't really care.

the only thing i've generally learnt from entering competitions in the past, is that if you want to be taken seriously - just don't bother.

    that's my 2 pence, and i'm outies.

Pretty sure you can do an audio mix but you have to do it "live" some how ... I'm gonna read it again in about 3 months time when I've just recieved the new Culture Shock EP in the post ;)

    It sounds a tad confusing

My mate nick (he posts mixes on here as DJ NIckname) entered a competiton at fabric for the Union nights down there where they have a DJ competiton and the winner gets to be a resident at the fabric Union nights. He took part, smashed it on 3 decks, the crowd were loving it but he didnt win because.....he hadnt sold enough tickets to the event! So its not a DJ comp but a popularity contest then? Load iof fucking shit is what i call it. Even the guy who won that night, one of his friends came up to him and went "You were robbed, you blatently won it...."

DJ comps are alright but there is always a hidden agenda with them

just described every dj mix competition that's been and gone over the last few years online.

APART from the chance to open up bunch of cuts on friday night.
they actually went about the right way.

At the end of the day the competitions, even if run fairly, have got to be judged by some one or some people, and if for whatever reason they're not feeling your mix, even if everyone else thinks it's sick, you're simply not gonna get anywhere

Was cool to meet you last night btw Riisu!

was cool meetin you as well man, you have a good night?

friction fucking blew my head off at the end. that whole black reimx > talk to frank remix > squash and whatever the fuck else he was throwing about was sickle.

got to hear that overtime remix again and thanks to Views he dragged me right into this little bass trap up the front just as the bass kicked in and it was fucking sick! great timing!

but back on topic, all competitions are flawed unless every entry is judged by a panel and in no way relies on the public vote.

i think its too confusing. and a bit of a joke. the only reason lady v dubs or w/e her name is got so far last time was because all the blokes were watching her wiggle her arse about for 10 minutes.

I think that for a name as HUGE as random concept they really hve gone about it the wrong way .... AGAIN.

Yeah man had a really good night even though I was seriously under the weather! lol

I NEED to know what that first tune is that Alix Perez played!

Friction was fire man, there was one tune he played towards the start of his set that had the whole place fucking rocking, was a real sick roller

Unfortunately I had to leave about half way through his set, just as he was playing Be True

Age Of Empires >>> Chubrub was massive though, didn't even see it coming :D

Was a wicked night the vibes in there reminded me of the End a couple times
