Launched in 2010, Sunbeatz has firmly established itself as an essential part of the the Drum & Bass calendar and a focal point of the Ibiza scene. Renown for their hugely popular Goin Ape at the Zoo events, Boat Parties and club nights at some of the island’s biggest clubs like Sankeys and Gatecrasher. They are celebrating their 5th year anniversary with the Sunbeatz Summer Mix Series. Each week in the run up to the event they will give away an exclusive mix from one of the acts on the line up at this years event.
This week’s mix comes from DJ Sly. It takes a talented DJ to perform with the biggest MC’s in the game and as the only DJ in the mighty Shadow Demon Coalition, Sly possess that raw talent.
Brought up DJing at East London house parties, cutting his teeth on the decks with the likes of Wiley, Shaydee, Dizzee and the Heartless Crew honing their lyrical skills over his sets.
By the age of 15 Sly was playing at the now legendary Telepathy quickly developing his skills as an artist who could charge the ground for any MC or roll out solo and deliver the goods on his own.
Sly’s versatile, genre-defying abilities ensured him a respected position on London’s underground Rave scene before being headhunted by the pirates and landing his 14 year relationship with London’s Kool FM.
Since these early days DJ Sly’s star has continued to rise, taking him to meteoric heights, touring the world as a DJ both as a solo artist and with the Shadow Demon Coalition - before firmly cementing his place as celebrated producer making beats for the likes of Ragga Twins, Trigga, Shabba and Rock To Art to name a few.
He’s released on on V Recordings, Low Down Deep and runs his own imprint Higher Stakes. DJ Sly's never ending talented is unabated and as his career goes from strength to strength Sunbeatz is proud to have him on this year's line up.
