As the darkened depths of winter recede and spring forces its way into being, what better way to kick off the summer proceedings than with a healthy dose of DJ Marky and some of his carefully chosen friends.

After a winter lay-off that seemed to last for an eternity, London’s favourite club night is back with a vengeance. Over the past two years the DJ Marky & Friends brand has been growing in stature, with what is now readily perceived as an international appeal. Such musical visionaries as Gilles Peterson, Vikter Duplaix, Fabio, Ninja Tune and Total Science have all become a part of DJ Marky’s extended group of friends and it does not stop there.

For this, the first DJ Marky & Friends of 2007, an effervescent line-up has been mulled over, discussed and confirmed as the best possible start to the year for all concerned and includes DJ Storm and Seiji, Alex Phountzi and MC MG from the Bugz In The Attic crew.

Storm made her name as the first lady of legendary label group Metalheadz, if not DnB as a whole. Alongside her former cohort Kemistry, the duo was an almost unstoppable force in the scene making dancefloors and clubs across the UK their own property until Kemistry’s untimely and tragic demise in 1999. Pushing on from here, Storm’s sets and mix CDs have been revered and enjoyed all round the globe and we are now happy to bring her to this special event at The End. The main room this time around promises to be a real journey through the Drum & Bass era from start to finish, with Storm breaking the night in with a selection of Blue Note ’97 tracks and bringing the vibe up to present day classics. From here DJ Marky will be playing a trademark 6 hour set and bringing a sublime box of tricks, dubs and dancefloor smashes to the table. Alongside DJ Marky and Storm will be two of Echo Location’s finest, MC Verse and Rage. Both MCs have reputations beyond the ordinary and are constantly pushing the boundaries in terms of top-flight performance.

A percentage of the Bugz In The Attic crew will be hosting the specially renamed “Bugz Room” and will feature the musical stylings of Seiji and Alex Phountzi along with the vocal prowess of “MC MG” to keep the vibe up-tempo and true to the group’s ethos. Bugz fans across the globe will know that a performance from any or all of these guys is a must-see experience and for this reason we gladly welcome them to the fray.
