Was at Fabric on Friday and saw Hype using Serato. Was very, very surprised. He was one of the few people still using/cutting dubs but now one of the original dubplate killers has gone digital

    Thoughts?

dont see the fuss with it really i mean the cost of cutting dubs must be in the thousands if he was cutting 10-20 tunes a month... still using the vinyl decks though least he aint gone to cd's

anyway, bit surprised tbh. I remember an interview with Kissy SellOut last year when Kissy mentioned Zinc using Serato and hype got really mad

It's not really a fuss being made, just quite surprised.

Never thought he would embrace the digital side of things cos he was so into dubs like Andy and Friction are

i heard him talking about it on his radio show that he has started using serato when he played abroad so i guess that he just decided to do it in england as well, is a shame though coz one of things that made a hype set special jsut like andy c's or friction was that they used dubs... maybe he's just getting sent far to many good tunes and its just easier to play them all off serato

quick question about Serato, can you swap the serato vinyl for dubs and just play them normally? Im assuming you cant?

yeh u can change the input if everything is plugged in properly, should work just fine, it's so annoying fucking about for 10mins with wires in a dark club though, i dunno why anyone bothers!

got nothing to do with cables when switching from timecoded and vinyl.. literally just a flick of a switch (or button)

I never understood your sig until now, I thought it was a weird morpheus look-a-like, but it is infact, AINSLEY HARRIOT.
