I assumed it was a deliberate piss take of the hypocritical stance of much of the D&B industry takes towards copyright control.

yep zinc's tune, people still think hype did the original to.

someone did a dodgy bootleg in 96/97 after zinc's take on the fugees tune which was credited to hype but wasn't by him.
