    DISTURBED RECORDINGS BIO

Created in June 2003 by Marko Russiver ( souru ) and Teddie Wardi ( teddie ), DISTURBED RECORDINGS is an independent Drum & Bass label, based in Estonia and Finland. The main purpose for starting the label was due to the incredible amount of talent throughout the Estonia, Finland and Latvia area. No outlet for their music was available - no stepping stones to build on.

The decision came in early 2003 to lay the foundations for a whole new movement. Disturbed Recordings focus is to put out an eclectic selection of beats: from the melodic, deep and soulful rollers to the cement sloshing jagged basslines and acidic chords of what has become "future step". The only thing common with all Disturbed music besides its quality is that its aimed 100% at the dancefloor.

Whilst the label is still in it's early stages, such acclaimed DJ's & Producers as: Paul B, Danny C, Concord Dawn, Black Sun Empire, Ill.Skillz (d.kay & rawfull), Chris.su, Typecell, Sinthetix, Dieselboy, Dara, AK1200, Kiko, Psidream, and many more have added DSTRBD001 to their current arsenal of tunes being rinsed. Hold tight for a 'Disturbing' ride through some rugged breaks. The future holds endless possibilities, and we plan to stay on the cutting edge of every beat … every bassline … every drop.

We´d like to thank Breakbeat Science ( especially Dara ), Leet recordings ( Voss and Phono ), Nexxi from G2, Mackie from alpha-magic, Ill.Skillz, Chris.Su, Future Prophecies, Paul B and his Step2zero, Pendulum crew, Danny C, Magic Vinyl, Nemcron, Mag from DOA, Ben Sage, ASC, EHL from Warm communications, 24seven.da.ru crew, Habit recordings, Muffler and all the local crews at our homelands, that have been supporting us. Special thanks go out to DJ Brain who made super track for first release and also does all design work for disturbed recordings.

Disturbed Recordings is distributed by Alpha Magic Ltd.

    Disturbed Recordings Presents
    DSTRBD001 FEATURING
DJ Brain + Fee.nix-z feat. MC Puma : Tear Red
    Fee.nix-z : Woody
    out in february

Latvian duo DJ Brain & Fee.nix-z come through on Disturbed Recordings first single, with a debut release of their own. These talented newcomer producers are set for an outburst in 2004, and we are glad to host their first release of many more to come.

    Side A: Tear-Red
From its melodic rolling into, this number breaks down into a distilled silence, a true calm before the storm. Unleashing an arsenal of ever pace changing jagged breaks and fiercely bouncing basslines, amidst its hypnotic vocal chords courtesy MC Puma. The track carves a deep pit of roughly engineered funk, with systematically designed stabs sure to leave any system with a thorough work out and an audience yearning for more.

    Side AA: Woody
Serene melodies and riffs flow through Woody’s intro, leaving it’s listeners in a dream like state, unaware of the pure battering they are about to receive. A break that grasps you uncontrollably, swirling you around its heavily layered amens and captivating synths, while the vicious subs beneath them pound away. Annihilating any and all that choose to stand in its way.

    DSTRBD002 FEATURING Future Prophecies :
    Reflecting Terror b/w
    Illusions of Time
    out in march

Scandinavian based Future Prophecies need no introduction. With releases on such esteemed labels as: Subtitles; Moving Shadow; Certificate 18; Renegade Hardware & Outbreak, they have more than made their mark on the world of Drum n Bass. We are proud to have them gracing us with DSTRBD002.

    Side A: Reflecting Terror
As the name suggests, this rugged number is sure to strike fear in the heart of even the most hardcore listener. It’s thundering basslines reflecting off the equally ferocious drums. Serving a relentless battering of dark acidic chords between it’s equally terrorizing break downs, which hold frightening nomadic chants, urging you to believe the worst is in store … and it is.

    Side AA: Illusions of Time
Unlike its flipside, Illusions of Time starts with harmonic, trance life melodies and smooth enchanting vocals to add to its massive anthem like appeal. Sure to grasp the emotions of any listener, Illusions falls into a steady rhythm, its bassline contorting itself to epic proportions while holding a steadily rough sound amongst its ever captivating vibe.

Do people within the industry really get sour about a new label starting up? I kow it's competition but it's healthy right? New artists to sign, & tracks to be sold. ALso monthly label nights cropping up

doubt that they ever get sour, but ive always had this positive reaction to any nu labels that start off, thinking woah, what will they bring, what will they try to improve, what will they make different from the rest... just i was expecting more people with the same attitude.

every competition is healthy and ;)
