Distortion guitar and bass

Has anyone layered a deep distortion guitar with bass yet? and did they get any good results?
Gonna give it a go today on fruity loopy nutz are we!

Nightbreed use this technique. Also, Pendulum, Baron and Fresh play guitar and import it to the sequencer or sampler and add distortion, compression, filters or effects to it....If you get it right - It sounds good!
Giving you a more indie/rock sounding track.

thought id heard it in them tracks. I cant play the guitar but there is a good guitar plug in on fl studio. will let you know how i get on.
