right all the info is up on the dispatch website.

    http://dispatchrecordings.com/

one thing i would point out to u guys is it says if you put clips on soundcloud before the winner is announced then you wont be entered into the competition. I know this has been different on previous comps so i thought i best point it out :)

I wholeheartedly disagree mate. The basses especially ♥

But of course it's in the rules, you can add your own sounds as well, just use the ones provided creatively!

edit: well i do understand what you mean about unrecognizable, but I think it's all about making something new out of those, processing etc.

i thought of some stabs or material to make some leads... the way this is now, the winning tune will sound almost like every other minimal'ish tune out there.

thought it could became somewhat like the painted sky remix comp, where every tune was different, but had somehow distinguishable samples in there.

anyways. did the sickest, rolling drums i ever did yesterday, think ill have to stick them under my bassline from this compo, hehe :>

I promise mine doesn't sound like every other minimal tune :p Hope its still suitable to the dispatch sound but I have my doubts. I guess there's some joy in sharing the tracks for free after the winner is declared.

Loving that tune in your sig btw. Is it a remix of something?

    guess not, sounds big! Congrats!

thread in general seems to have dissappeared aswell. hmm^^

and for the comp. i dont want to make it a minimal tune aswell. but as i said, it will be pretty hard to say if it was a comp-tune or not.

i will certainly just rename the tune after the comp and send it out some more if it is good and didnt win :D

There were a lot of questions about that in the comments on the comp page. You can't really send the tune anywhere else as the samples are copyrighted by Octane & DLR. But if you've taken it far enough that the sounds can't be recognized i guess go ahead :D

Well it's not like you have to do anything to copyright something you've created. Legally speaking, anything you've created, no matter how small (if original) already has your copyright stamp all over.

true. but i regard copyright laws as idiotic and insufficient. aslong as youtube makes the money, and not us artists, i cant really care less...
