Any Bob Dylan fans in the house? i was lucky enough to see him play tonight. i consider him to be one of the greatest legends of the music industry. it was shit. his voice sounded like he'd just gargled acid, or he was about to cough up a lung or something he'd smoked 20 years ago. he didnt 'sing' any of his songs, rather he simply spoke all of the lyrics. people were either leaving early, or staying and giving sympathy claps. ive never seen anything like it. I'll post video later. you really do have to hear it to believe it. anyone else have any horror gig stories?
haha hope you didnt pay for the ticket or nothing cos that sucks ass gumby. noisia in nighttown, rotterdam, loudest system in the world went all quiet and died on us, was fucking horrible, took the air out of the whole dance.
not an entirely disapointing gig but more of a disapointing act/dj... DJ Hazard last year, played a good set but as a dj/entertainer he was terrible, didnt get into it, didnt even look like he wanted to be there, he dropped duplate killaz remix and didnt even look up to see the crowds response....he hardly even looked up, didnt even really nod his head..... thats prob the most disapointing dj iv seen
1) Fatboy Slim so pissed that he couldn't mix 130 bpm house records together - trainwrecking. Plus pilled up people saying that he's a genius. 2) Snoop Dogg (same festival) singing by the numbers. 3) Shy Fx playing steppers and me getting drunk on 2 bottles of beer. 4) My bitch ex-girlfriend pulling me out of a wonderful Fun Loving Criminals concert, to call me an ass-hole (we together still for a while) 5) Me getting drunk and not being able to play ghettotech at my second gig as a gt dj.
I see 's Padawan has the habits of his master. Better Hype though than John B taking pictures while his cd player mixes for him (prerecorded mixes).
This is true, I went to his gig on Brighton beach New Years Day 07, mixing was so dire, he used to be capable of much more than that. Dont know about Hype though, everytime I've seen him he always gives it the beans
I see Prince last night at the o2 (the dome) in London,he was good but i though he would be much much better, and he did'nt do 'when doves cry' either!
saw him too. not that night. played a verse of when doves cry. which i will admit was a bit of a disapointment. he was amazing though. the man has too many songs. looking forward to seeing him again a week today. would of been better if he had played less of his new stuff though but still he it was all good. he's a short man with lots of moves... but i would... guessin i'm at the back of a long queue of women on that one though. the worst gig i had the misfortune to go to was........ seeing travis. i need say no more
I saw D12 back in Sept 01 @ the Astoria. Well D12 minus Enimem... What did they do to fill in for Em? Had a backing track... You'd think someone else coulda either done his bits or something at least. The trx where Em's the main man were shite, just D11 shouting and jumping about and trying to hype in the backing track gaps, waiting for bits they could rap. Funniest thing was loads of 11 yr olds, (there with their Mum's) who got bored cos Em wasn't there.
Also. The Tears (Brett & Bernard from Suede's latest band) @ Somerset House, which was cancelled on the day. If ya dunno, Somerset House in Ldn do massive open air Summer Evening gigs, in the courtyard of a lovely historic building. The day it was supposed to be was a gorgeous hot Summer Sunday night, and we only found out when we got there. Was rescheduled for rainy Oct in the Hammersmith Palais. Gig was good in the end, we were @ the front and got a good grab of Brett when he crowd surfed (you gotta don't ya), but it woulda been perfect at Somerset House!
