    What's up y'all?

Dirtbox Radio, in conjunction with Strangeland Records, is proud to announce the official Dirtbox Radio Intro Remix Contest 2007!

The current remix by Rev-E has been in use for a few years, and we felt the upcoming five year anniversary to be a good point at which to update it. In case you're unfamiliar with the intro, we use it to open up each of our live shows, and tack it on the front of all the Dirtbox sets hosted on the website. Needless to say, it gets quite a bit of airtime.

The winner will receive (at least) one Dirtbox Radio T-Shirt, and a $100USD gift certificate to Strangeland Records. Current T-Shirt designs are viewable at our shop, more of which will be printed around the closing date of the contest. (There's also a third design in the works, but that'll be announced at a later time.) Strangeland offers a huge selection of Electronica, Punk, Metal, and Industrial on Vinyl and CD, so even you non-DJ folk will most definitely find something you dig there. Joe and Ryan are bad motherfuckers as well (they run the shop), and they'll help you find whatcha want. Massive biggups to them as always!

    So, here are the constraints:

    1. Intro must be approx 30 seconds long, give or take a couple seconds.
    2. Intro must be applicable to the style of the show. DNB-related intros will be preferred.
    3. Intro must be 100% original work!!!!! No biting.
    4. Intro must be submitted in 320kbps MP3 via email to ODJ at DIRTBOXRADIO dot COM**

You're welcome to use the samples from the sample pack, but that's not a necessity. If your own samples are better/cooler, then by all means use them :)

Deadline for submission is 12am EST (5am GMT) on April 1st, 2007. If it ain't in my inbox by that time, you looze.

Winnar will be announced live at our Dirtbox Five @ Five party on April 4th, at Midnight (it's a special edition of Upfront's Focus party, btw, and you should go!), and posted on the website April 5th. Winner will also be notified via the email address used to submit their work.

Sooo.... that's about it. Get to it! I'm excited to hear what y'all create.

    EZ,
    Jackson (ODJ)

** if your service won't send the file due to size limitations, email me before the first and I'll set up an alternate method of receipt.

The Dirtbox Radio Intro contest winner is... Nekura! His submission was picked by the Kru to prelude our mixes and sets, and he'll be receiving a $100 gift cert to Strangeland Records and a couple of free Dirtbox T-Shirts. Congrats Neku, and thx to everyone for your submissions!

Coming in at a very close second place was 1st String, and we'll be giving him a couple of shirts and something else as well (we'll figure it out). Since the two intros are varied in style, you can expect to 1st String's as well, from time to time. Biggups to 1st String!
