Our very own Dark Lizardro set a mission for our favorite forum at the end of last year and tomorrow we get to listen to the outcome. From his amazing E.P Still in the Embrace we have got remixes from Manu Forti, Belial Pelegrim and Reefleks the rest we get to choose.

With the talent on this forum and knowing the entrants have spent serious time on this project i expect the music to be amazing. The tracks will be available for voting on the 17th February in the production section so please head over and get involved.

IV4 - Everybody Fly / Encounters

Most will already know IV4 and his melodic drum and bass style and we love him for it.

The title track is reminiscent of the trancestep sound that was prominent in the early noughties while Encounters is more Melodic and breaks driven, but both absolute bangers.

After the great response we had from this release we couldn't resist hosting a remix competition for it. So here we are..
3 winners

Next up... Option delivering some Drumfunk with his latest release Blueshift/Section 9. This ones out next week and we asked Brex to do our press release...

Blueshift - Opening up with a crisp break and distinct hi-hats, Blueshift sets a tone for a track ready to take you on a journey. A breakdown of an ethereal noisescape split apart by a lumbering sub-bass soon opens up into a masterpiece of drum slicing and gorgeous pads. A relentlessly inspiritive track, be prepared to get lost in it.

Section 9 - Fresh drums and spectral synth work kick off Section 9 leading you unsuspectingly into the drop. The dashing bass-line pairs finely with the energetic drums, like a succulent sirloin with a shiraz, it leaves you smiling ear to ear. Solidly compelling fills keep your interest into the breakdown, the vocal sample peaking your interest and the second drop hits, bouncing your shoulders as rising synths and punchy drums continue you on your way. Definitely one for the crowd and a big system.

Section 9 (Manu remix) - Up steps the man from Detached Audio bringing his take on the uncompromising Section 9. He’s kept the spirit of Section 9, but made it his own. Stripping the track back to its bare elements, he rebuilds it in a fantastically luxurious way. With enough bass to make your nan even more deaf, his lightly syncopated drum edits weave in and out of overcast pads, creating a sense of accomplished uneasiness. Let this one play out to the end.

The results are finally in for IV4's Everybody Fly Remix comp, we had an outstanding response on this and thus some hard decisions on how to choose the top 3.

Myself, IV4 and Miszt decided that the decisions would be made in regards of how we want the label to develop hence our top pick being an experimental bass track.

Notable mentions...

@maschinistom we loved your melodic take on Everybody Fly, the competition was fierce however, but we would still like to offer you a release if your interested?

Also "How Hot is your Cloud?" nailed our roots of experimentalism and again we hope he will allow us to release on this project.



But the winners who stood out...


In 3rd we have a brooding jungle track from @djFATrip a format Detached Audio wants to move into a lot more often after Options recent releases.

2nd we went for a pro sounding Deep House track from Sevit. Deep House, Dub Techno and Trance are one of the labels core influences, so this needed to be in the top 3.

And 1st goes to FI$H with his experimental bass track... We were blown away by this one, in particular by the sound design. He was definitely listening when we said "Experimental"

Theres a remix from Option in keeping with his Drum Funk style already done, ill try and keep up with some obscure remix myself and ill discuss with @IV4 if he has time to do a remix of his own.

Expect this release in Autumn 2016 and thank you to all participants for making this contest our best yet.
