Demo track. How to level frequencies on my sub bass

Hey, I've been working on this song ( it's not mastered yet so the levels are low) but looking at the wavelength, I've noticed that the higher sub notes stick out a lot. I'm pretty certain that this is down to EQing the bass to pick up lower frequencies, but when I cut out the higher frequenices, the bass just loses its punch. Any advice?

what I do sometimes in cases like this, is just clone the plugin, put the high notes there (leave the low ones in the other), route it to a separate bus and just reduce the volume of that one

try to layer the lower high ones with an octave below.

lets say youre going up to c2, just layer c1 underneath.

not best practise but does work.
