I'm not a TV buff mate, but the right make is always a good place to start, imo google the Make and model and look for views/reviews on the TV, alot of the sites will have FAQ's about contrast ratio n ting

24 inch screen for £180.. rip off.

    i sold a few 19" monitors a while back for £20 each.

In my experience all standard brand monitors will be of good enough quality for most usage unless youre doing something specific.

To compare spec id look at similar price monitors that are smaller, and then see what youre sacrificing for the bigger screen.

its also different components, some cheaper, some not.
24" its nice size, and it gets up to 1680 x 1050.but it is just too expensive imo, when you can get much cheaper 22".
im looking to get a pair of Dell 22", around £150 each. the 24 model is £270, and the newer version £380. just too much money for that extra size, not worth it imo.
i wouldnt get a £200 24", its too big and nay flaws will stand out loads.
there's the edge 22" monitors, for £125 each, and i have had the 17" for couple of years, but i aint too impressed, and for that small difference, you might as well get a brand you know off!
